Origin Story
It feels almost like yesterday Jerry and I made this song. Crazy story how it all happened, but the hook and song title were really created from freestyling in the car after leaving this party out west. A lot of that day is a blur, but I know him and I went deep. It was about 4 people total in my whip for the party, but we were meeting like 5 other people. In total 9 guys in a 2 floor party packed, shoulder to shoulder we were solid.
Everything was going smooth seeing old and new faces until police showed up. What looked like one cop with a flashlight set on strobe turned to 6 and from 6 onto 11. You can already tell at this point, everyone was frantic rushing out. My group ofcourse went from 9 to 3 quickly from the crowds movement. In a rush to the car, the missing person already was at the there. When we got in my old chevy cruz (alluded to in Lose Freestyle), I took off from the scene. An officer seemed to have been trailing us for quite some time. Instead of heading home, I drove through blocks and cut corners in the neighborhood (legally lol) and evaded any hassle.
After dropping everyone off except 1, I pulled into the parking lot of an IHOP. In that time, Jerry and I started listening to old songs of ours which are even older now. Inspiration ran through both our minds, so we decided to start freestyling. We did this often so the chemistry was there in the music and flow. He and I have numerous songs together and it showed when on one of the instrumentals, check a bag was born. From there we took the song into my make-shift closet studio and recorded the song.

I love hearing the backstory for songs!
